👋 Hello, I’m Ikjun
👨🎓 I am a final-year Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Vanderbilt University, specializing in nanophotonics and integrated optical systems.
🔬 Ph.D. researcher in optical sensing and instrumentation with hands-on experience in designing and building advanced optical platforms for imaging, measurement, and nanoscale particle characterization. Background includes metasurfaces, label-free imaging, and AI-assisted data analysis.
📚 I’m really interested in optics and photonics, especially in scalable photonics, co-packaged optics, and optical data transfer. I enjoy working on hands-on projects that require careful alignment and precision, like high-NA optical experiments. At the same time, I like combining these systems with automation and AI to make them more efficient and scalable system. I have incorporated computational tools such as U-Net–based segmentation, and LLM-based RAG systems as part of my workflow to enhance data analysis and support data-driven decision-making.
🎶 Recently, I am interestd in Abbe/Hopkins imaging theory using adjoint-based inverse design, as well as blurred image reconstruction, and transfomer based noise estimation.
🎮 Hobbies include playing Last War, practicing the saxophone, and running 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
